Houston Chronicle - First Homeowners Move into Estates of WoodCreek
The De St. Remey family has moved into their new NorthStone Builders custom home in the Estates of WoodCreek, and are officially the first residents of this new, gated custom section of WoodCreek Reserve.
Ed and Sherri De St. Remey relocated from Alaska to the Katy area in August.
“We looked at several communities, but we loved the homes in the Estates of WoodCreek immediately,” Sherri said.
The accessibility to I-10 for an easy commute and the schools were other big selling points. They have triplets who are in fifth grade, and they now are attending the new WoodCreek Elementary School and next year will move to the new WoodCreek Middle School, which opens in 2008.
Lynn Cormier with Keller Williams Memorial was their real estate agent. Cormier sells homes in several areas, but said “Katy is really hot right now and the schools seem to be the driving factor.”
The De St. Remeys’ new home is a two-story design on a cul-de-sac and backs to a nature reserve.
The list of custom builders in the Estates of WoodCreek includes NorthStone Builders, Rockwell Homes, Vanguard Homes, Montreaux Luxury Homes, Dominion Custom Homes, Stone Creek Builders and GTF Custom Homes.
WoodCreek Reserve, on beautiful Buffalo Bayou, offers a recreation center surrounded by nature trails, fish-stocked lake and tennis courts, along with the community swimming pool, cabanas and a playground. Upon completion of WoodCreek Reserve, amenities also will include a sports field and three other neighborhood parks.
WoodCreek Reserve will be home to two Katy Independent School District schools. WoodCreek Elementary opened in August and is in the middle of the community’s plan. Located on Katy-Flewellen, WoodCreek Junior High is on a 31-acre site and will open in 2008.
The community is within the Katy city limits. |
